Anesthetic

Along with a thorough physical exam, ECG (electrocardiogram) and pre-anesthetic blood work are powerful components to minimizing risks associated with a general anesthetic and we strongly recommend these be done. While your pet is under anesthesia, he/she will be monitored by a trained, experienced and fully licensed Veterinary Technician using aids such as a Doppler Blood Pressure Monitor (which allows us to measure blood pressure as well as heart rate), ECG (electrocardiogram), pulse oximetry, and temperature probes while also receiving intravenous fluids and kept warm by our patient heating units. By far, the best tools that we have are the skills that the Veterinarians have developed over many years of experience in dealing with pets under anesthesia.

Surgery

We offer advanced surgical techniques and technology in our practice, and our Veterinarians are skilled and experienced. Surgeries performed include mass removals, wound repairs, abdominal exploratory surgeries, bladder surgeries, oral surgeries, routine spay/neuters (with umbilical hernia repairs and dewclaw removals as needed) to name a few. All patients are carefully screened to minimize anaesthetic risks, and each anaesthetic is specifically tailored to each pet.
Surgical services and facilities include Board Certified Surgeons available for consultation or to come in and do surgery and fully trained staff to ensure the safest and most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet. Advanced sterilization techniques are always used on our surgical equipment.
Blood pressure, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors are available to help us monitor your pet. We consistently provide intensive after-surgery care to maximize safety and comfort. In addition, we provide excellent pain management protocols pre- and post-surgery to further enhance comfort.

Pharmacy

We have a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. Having these medications on-hand simplifies things when you need them for your pet. It is important to note that these drugs are for veterinary use only. When possible, we will prescribe medication that is specifically licensed for use in dogs/cats. Sometimes, we need to write prescriptions for medication to be filled at a human pharmacy. No matter how large or small your pet is, we can arrange to get in the correct medication and dose for whatever the condition may require.

Digital radiography

We have digital radiography systems for both general and dental radiographs able to provide almost instantaneous images to help us diagnose possible pathologies or issues with your pet.  As these are digital, we can easily share them with you and also specialists if we need a second opinion.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound can be an excellent source of imaging and examine soft tissues within the body to aid in diagnosing illness and directing treatments.  As the images are digital, we can also share them easily with board-certified radiologists, when needed, to get expert second opinions.

Euthanasia Service

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend can be painful and heart-wrenching. We work closely with clients to ensure their pet’s comfort and dignity is cared for during these last moments. Clients may choose to remain with their pet or leave them with us to be euthanized. Our services include care of the remains as directed. After the fact, we are here to support clients as needed to help them deal with the grief of losing a loved one. Many of our own team members have had to euthanize a loved pet of our own, so we truly know how difficult it is. Please contact us if you have any questions around euthanasia or cremation services.
